New BlogEngine.Net Theme

by Bron Skinner 16. September 2009 12:15
I've completed the first run of thematic alterations to the blog theme. I've got some pretty cool ideas for custom controls, a media widget namely migrated from a previous silverlight media control I've already created. I'd also like to add functionality outside the realm of blogengine.net. I would like to add a Forge page (think warp core, bulk heads, a futuristic engineering complex for the theme - sorry, I've been watching Star Trek episodes lately) that adds into the current theme and serves the purpose of displaying historic projects and accomplishments as well as future ventures. I'll have to migrate the current blogengine.net application to a new app located within it's own subdomain as I don't have access to IIS settings for my hosting solution, or perhaps just build onto the blogengine.net application further. I intend on adding many small more aesthetically inclined bits and peices to make the site really pop. Perhaps an enhanced menu system that emulates a futuristic console, or a star glow animation loop. I'm also currently looking at solutions for Guild (MMORPG) open source applications or hosted soultions. If anyone has any personal experience/suggestions I'd love to hear them. I'd really like to find an open source solution built on the .NET Platform, allowing for easy customization.
